Under the International Safety Management (ISM) code, every ship must appoint a Ship Safety Officer (SSO) who has the knowledge, experience, and skills to look over the important safety issues related to ship safety and crew’s well-being.
Enclosed Space Entry and Rescue Incident online course. The student will be able to identify hazards associated with enclosed spaces, learn relevant Enclosed Space Entry procedures, be aware of Gas Detection Equipment – Calibration, Communication Duties, understand the Emergency Procedures & Rescue requirements and correct use of SCBA.
Trainees knowledge will be updated to the following subjects: gastrointestinal (GI) illnesses, foodborne illnesses, causes and prevention, equipment and facilities (related to food and other areas), food protection, hazard analysis critical control points (what they are and how to apply them), potable water (protection and handling), housekeeping and infection control.
The aim of this course is to raise awareness on the hazardous factors that might lead to an accident during a mooring operation. Through cause analysis of a mooring incident trainees become aware of the mooring operation risks and how to avoid any accident.
Grounding incident online course. The aim of the course is to prepare onboard staff throught refleactive learning from a grounding incident.

Ballast Water Management – Compliance, Monitoring & Enforcement aims to help trainees become familiar with the compliance and monitoring requirements of the IMO, USCG and EPA.
The aim of this course is to help trainees become familiar with the actions needed, to maintain ERMA FIRST BWTS components and whole system, at specific time intervals as described in the BWTS manual. The trainees will acquire knowledge on how to maintain the system and recover it via the troubleshooting of the malfunction events.
Ballast Water Treatment – Operation online course aims to provide information about ERMA FIRST BWTS components and overall system operation, in order to be prepared to operate the system.
