The “Anhydrous Ammonia / NH3 LPG Carrier Course” covers the unique properties of ammonia gas and the distinctions between LPG grades used in the industry. It explores operational practices, relevant statutory and specific requirements, and addresses safety considerations associated with different cargo grades and varying conditions.
The course is designed for operations personnel, those responsible for or assisting with onboard duties, and junior & beginner level professionals working with LPG and ammonia carriers.
Through this intensive, expert-led training, participants will gain valuable, actionable knowledge on ammonia’s properties, associated hazards, and best practices for safe operations aboard LPG carriers.

About the instructor
Captain Jad Ghamraoui is the Operations / Gas Department & Crew Director at Naftomar Shipping and Trading Co. Ltd. Inc. He holds a Master’s License A from the Marine Academy of Athens and has a comprehensive background in LPG carrier operations. With hands-on experience as Master in Command of LPG carriers and roles including Fleet Manager, Marine Superintendent, and General Operations Manager, Captain Ghamraoui has managed both the operational and strategic aspects of maritime logistics. As a former Site Manager at HHI/STX, Captain Jad Ghamraoui has also overseen complex projects within shipyards. In addition to these roles, he serves as a trainer for DNV GL’s Maritime Academy.
